  • Brief Bio

    Bronwyn joined The IIE as Head of Faculty: Law in March 2021. She holds a BCom in Law Degree from Rhodes University, and both an LLB and LLM Degree from the University of Fort Hare.  After several years in practice, first as a partner in a law firm and then as a Director of her own firm, as an attorney, notary and conveyancer, Bronwyn moved into academia at the University of Fort Hare in 2013 where she ran the Extended Curriculum Programme for Law for 5 years and then became Head of Department:  Public Law. Bronwyn has published articles in her research interest areas of family law, constitutional law and commercial law.   She is currently completing amendments to her Doctorate received from the external examiners.   She is a member of the Legal Practice Council and has examined students for the Bar Examinations.

  • Brief Bio

    Amanda completed her B.Proc in 2003 at the University of South Africa. Prior to completion of the undergraduate qualification, Amanda spent many years working in legal administration which included the Black Lawyers Legal Education Centre (Law Clinic), the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Land Claims Commission. Post-masters, Amanda was employed at the Centre for Critical Research on Race and Identity. Amanda joined IIE VC Sandton as a full-time lecturer in 2014 and CAT as a Head of Programme for Law in 2018. Amanda was promoted to Senior Head of Programme for Law in February 2020. Amanda intends to pursue doctoral studies through the University of Pretoria in 2021.

    Rufaro has completed the following three degrees: Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Masters in Labour Law (LLM) and a Doctor of Laws (LLD). Her LLD research focused on a child protection area, specifically focusing on the economic exploitation of children. Rufaro has authored four articles: three have already been published in Department of Higher Education accredited journals. For research purposes she has visited the International Labour Organisation in Turin, Italy. She has, furthermore, presented at several conferences and plans to publish some of those presentations. In 2022 she plans to undertake research on graduate employability.

    Natalie completed her LLB at the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) in 2009 and went straight into her LLB at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2010. After completing her LLM, Natalie went into her articles and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in April 2012. She spent several years in the private sector including working in the social legal space with NPOs which involved transformation and development of the entrepreneurial space. Natalie joined Varsity College Sandton as an IC lecturer in 2021 and went on to lecturer several modules but left lecturing to become a full-time academic. Natalie intends to complete her LLD in future.

  • Brief Bio

    Warren graduated with his BA Journalism degree in 2004 from the former Rand Afrikaans University (RAU). He went on to graduate with his BA in Law in 2009, a postgraduate LLB in 2011 and his LLM (Master of Laws) in 2014, specialising in Human Rights Law and passed with distinction. He obtained all of his law qualifications at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). He completed his articles of clerkship as a candidate attorney with the University of Johannesburg Law Clinic in 2016 and in 2017, he was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He has worked in academia since 2007 as a tutor, mentor, lecturer, programme manager and now, Head of Programme. He has published in the field of Labour Law and Human Rights Law, and he has attended various local and international conferences, delivering papers on a diverse array of legal topics. He intends to pursue doctoral studies focussing on teaching and learning practices in legal education and how technological advancements in law impact on these practices. He has acted as a supervisor for final – year law students completing their research component on the University of the Free State (UFS) Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and he also represents the faculty in all matters concerning research and postgraduate affairs within the IIE.

    Riyaadh has completed the following degrees: Bachelor of Laws (LLB), master’s in Criminology, Law, and Society (LLM) and is currently completing his Doctor of Laws (LLD) in public law (Stell). 


    His LLM research focused on the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-inmates into society. He conducted face to face interviews with incarcerated inmates across various prisons in Cape Town. 


    Riyaadh’s LLD research will expand on his theoretical approach to reducing recidivism rates within South Africa.
